neap tide

Every third quarter and quarter phase of the moon brings a half-moon. The sun and the moon have a gravitational tug of war forcing the waters to recede. In the wake of the war, children come to play in the sand during the low neap tide. The water merges with sky as it is pulled in all directions by the half-moons.
